This week, we wrapped up the final installation at This week, we wrapped up the final installation at the Oskaloosa post office. It was a unique job in several ways, including the size and weight of the sashes and the degree of deterioration, mostly on account of termites. The way the windows functioned was also a first for us. The photo with the boarded up window shows the space above the window that the operable sash opened up into. The hyperlapse shows us installing the final three windows in the mezzanine. They weigh about 120 lb ea. and so  made for a challenging delivery.
Starting window work at the West Paint Creek Churc Starting window work at the West Paint Creek Church located 5 miles east of Waukon.  The church was founded by Norwegian immigrants and built in 1892.  It's now on the National Register and is available for hosting events if you're looking for a quaint setting for your wedding!

We just wrapped up fabricating and installing 79 transom and 88 double-hung storm windows on the Larabee School, after years of grant applications, meetings, and measuring.

When is it too late? When is it too late?
Anytime I see siding that is an obvious overlay (l Anytime I see siding that is an obvious overlay (like the cement board in this case) I can't help but wonder what the house originally looked like. Undoubtedly better than it does currently. In the process of putting in larger windows in this house, we got a peak at the original siding. There's a beautiful house under there somewhere
