On December 1, 2023, we made a significant investm

On December 1, 2023, we made a significant investment in company infrastructure with the purchase of an all electric Ford Lightning. Anyone who's followed our company's path through the years knows that we're serious about sustainability and also that we drive a lot. We also drive long distances and are regularly pulling trailers, so it was a bit of a leap of faith to go all electric. But we are figuring out where the best charging stations are, how to adapt to driving in the cold, and how much we hated generators. So, for anyone considering going all electric, reach out to me with questions or concerns. We haven't run into every possible problem yet, but we're working our way through the list.

We are just starting another round of window work

We are just starting another round of window work at the West Paint Creek church, east of Waukon. The windows are a real glaziers special, with a mix of patterned, colored, and stenciled glass. Naturally we had to replace some of the glass, which required learning how to etch a replica stencil into the glass. And true to form, the transom over the front door has a different pattern than the other windows we've done thus far. So back to @Letterwerks we go

We're wrapping up another project for JSA Developm

We're wrapping up another project for JSA Development in downtown Waterloo. A combination of fabrication, restoration, and Mon Ray storm windows have helped to bring the shine back to the former Firehouse # 2 and later, the El Mecca Shriners club. The ground level will house city offices, and the top floor will have two apartments.

Congratulations to Danielle on the restoration of this Winneshiek County landmark! A remarkable feat given the scope and complexity (not to mention the timeline) of the project. I have watched many episodes of "In with the old" and I think this episode spends more time on the windows than any other. Could we have spent the entire episode discussing the windows? You bet! Stay tuned for Episode 2 😉

We're back in downtown La Crosse, this time at Big

We're back in downtown La Crosse, this time at Big Al's on 3rd St. We'll have to rebuild a lot of the sashes because of their poor condition. Also the windows on the sides of the oriels are really out of square and will require built up rails. An added bonus of this job is being under the watchful eye of the resident Peregrine falcon, who's been tasked with keeping the pigeons in check. We all have our work cut out for us!
